Proud to be unique! Every product in this special edition has a slight colour variation. So you will NOT GET PRECISELY like in the product pictures. Here's why:

All Tulisan serigraphy is hand-pulled using plant-based pigments that are environmentally friendly with OEKO-TEX® certification. Due to the characteristics of these organic pigments and the manual process, the colour impressions are expected to be irregular and varied. In addition, the high temperature applied for curing these serigraphs synthesises some colours to be darker or lighter depending on the pressures and pigment characteristics.

Particularly in this Night Queen edition, the faint yellow ochre colour converts towards an amber-like reddish tone in unexpected areas depending on the heat contact and pressure during the curing process. The result produces a water-colour gradation effect of this yellow tint. Combined with the deep Nero-jet ink, it creates a beautiful simmering appearance of the floral illustration. If you are particular about colour variation, we advise that you visit our boutiques to see the products in person.

Queen of the Night, a. k. a. Wijaya Kusuma (in Indonesian) is a dramatic night-blooming cactus. It blooms once a year, only overnight. This anomaly performance is extraordinary, as expected from plants that consume all reproductive energy in a short amount of time. Shining pure white like the moon, the flowers are large and profoundly fragrant in their blooming night. Indonesians believe caring for this plant brings luck and virtue to our lives. 

The Night Queen has an intimate connection with the royal family of the Majapahit kingdom. The legend stated that every new king-to-be must handpick the blooming flower to be worthy of the throne.

I started designing this Opera Bag in January 2022 as a classic, lightweight work bag. Its top hemispherical shape is inspired by 'stupa'—an essential feature of Java's ancient 'Candi' architecture. After exploring many forms and cutting patterns, I finally found an ideal proportion for my colorful day-to-day life. So far, I must say Opera is the culmination of my joyful bag-making experiments.

First, I named this design 'Opera' because its two-sided outer surface serves as a stage, showcasing the Original Editions (my narrative illustrations). The rounded top with double zippers displays a graceful look while providing a spacious opening for accessing its contents. The large interior compartments and pockets are practical for storing a mobile phone, a laptop (size 11" to 16"), or A4 folders. In addition, it comes with a Bien Strap in Smokey Night (110cm) that can be attached to the loops on the sides or inside the short handles, so you can carry it by hand, over the shoulder, or as a crossbody. By the way, there are two additional loops on the front of the short handles which can be used for attaching a key chain, a bag charm, or an extra pouch. A simple ring carabiner can be useful for hanging those additional small items. The carabiner is available in two sizes and sold separately.
