The Urban Tote Rampogan Edition reimagines one of Java’s most symbolic spectacles, the Rampogan Macan—a public ritual that once staged a confrontation between a tiger and men armed with spears. Within this design, Melissa Sunjaya transforms the ancient allegory of courage and resistance into a contemporary reflection on power, morality, and coexistence.

Hand pulled in serigraphy on unbleached cotton canvas, the artwork juxtaposes classical engravings with modern line compositions, evoking the tension between control and instinct, domination and harmony. It is a meditation on how struggle shapes strength, and how tradition continues to live through reinterpretation.

Functionally, the Urban Tote offers a structured silhouette with ample room for daily essentials, combining practical durability with artistic presence. Made from eco friendly, water-repellent canvas, it is reinforced with fine stitching and a spacious interior for effortless organisation.

This edition includes an 1830 Bag Charm and a Bien Strap (90 cm), allowing versatile wear as a handbag, shoulder bag, or crossbody. Each piece is handcrafted in Jakarta in limited quantity, carrying Tulisan’s philosophy of meaningful design rooted in cultural memory.
