The third letter from The New East Indies unveils a journal on a soulful voyage in art. Starting from Serat Centhini, Babad Diponegoro which was granted as ‘memory of the World by UNESCO, until the colorful piano melody of Leopold Godowsky’s Wayang-Purwa; history has documented that there is a wealth of cultural heritage from the Javanese ancestors. In this robotic era, a polarity of principles and heterogeneity of cultures have enriched this artist’s journey with an imagination about a Javanese Avant-Garde movement.
