The Botanist Bag Pinisi Wajik Edition reflects the meeting of heritage and geometry, drawing inspiration from Indonesia’s maritime history and the traditional wajik pattern—a diamond-shaped motif symbolising harmony and prosperity. Melissa Sunjaya reinterprets these cultural forms through a modern lens, weaving stories of movement, craftsmanship, and renewal.

Hand-pulled in serigraphy on unbleached cotton canvas, the artwork merges the silhouette of the Pinisi—the iconic Indonesian sailing vessel—with rhythmic diamond grids, evoking a sense of direction and balance. It is a reminder of how journeys, like patterns, are built from repetition and intention.

The Botanist Bag is designed with structured practicality, ideal for everyday rhythm. It includes a Medium Organizer and a Large Organizer to keep belongings in order, offering both flexibility and elegance. Made from water repellent canvas with refined stitching, it is durable yet thoughtfully soft to the touch.

This edition comes with an 1830 Bag Charm and a Bien Strap (90 cm), allowing versatile wear from hand to shoulder. Each piece is handmade in Jakarta in limited quantity, carrying Tulisan’s belief that beauty is not only seen but also lived, through mindful design and enduring craft.
