Batu Prints Edition is my visual conception of the ordinary gravel path where I take my daily walk. I love to look at familiar details surrounding me using unfamiliar ways of seeing. When I walk, it's not only the big picture that captivates my attention but also the little things. So I often took photos of overlooked details, such as pebbles on the street or wall textures. I looked at these photos at my home studio, printed them in different sizes, and experimented with various drawing tools to create my visual abstraction of the object. This visual exploration is my way of appreciating life. –Melissa Sunjaya
