The Librarian Tote Botani Polka Edition draws inspiration from the scientific illustrations of Indonesia’s flora during the nineteenth century, transforming archival precision into an abstract play of dots and stems. In this composition, Melissa Sunjaya reflects on how observation and imagination coexist—how the act of studying nature can also be an act of wonder.

The artwork, hand-pulled in serigraphy on unbleached cotton canvas, celebrates both order and spontaneity. Its rhythm of circular forms echoes the movement of seeds, spores, and blooming life, rendered with the care of a collector and the curiosity of a storyteller.
