Twiggy Hat { X3 }

‘Tulang Ikan’ Prints Edition by Melissa, inspired by things around her. It all started when Melissa observed a woven basket made of dried water hyacinth, a zigzag composition of brick pavement, and the structure resembling a whole Tilapia fish bone that she had eaten that day. Melissa also researched the history and tradition of the herringbone weave, which was also a source of inspiration for the ‘Tulang Ikan’ Prints Edition.

This canvas bucket hat is inspired by Twiggy, the British fashion icon during the swinging sixties. Its simple and whimsical shape makes it a sweet head accessory for the sunny and rainy seasons.

This Twiggy Hat is made through a sustainable program with Kampus Diakoneia Modern, a refuge for abandoned children. It specifically benefits several unemployed women who live in rural Bekasi, by providing fair pay and dignified work conditions.

MATERIALS:
Hand-printed serigraphy textiles on unbleached (chlorine-free) cotton canvas, using eco-friendly water-based inks. Every piece is handmade with fair, sustainable, and ethical practices.
