Identity is an ongoing exploration process and not an inherent prerogative from birth. Every artist understands that this process involves embracing uncertainty and a determination to dissect our own flaws with an open heart. This topic always intersects with the history of one’s birthplace, intricately woven through interplaying narratives between truth, imagination, and borrowed tales from other cultures. The ‘Keping’ Prints Edition is a visual semiotic excerpt from the Original artwork of ‘Miss Caj’, illustrating a way of evaluating these storytelling fragments as investigative material that needs to be frequently dismantled and recontextualized, to find an authentic voice. –MS
