Untuk Kartini

‘Untuk Kartini’ is a tribute to Raden Ajeng Kartini (21 April 1879 – 17 September 1904). She was a Javanese heroine who dared to question the Dutch colonial constraints on the East Indies, which placed severe limitations on Javanese women's access to education, economics, and politics. It was a degradation in women's rights compared to the condition before the Great Java War, where the ancient Javanese women held prominent and influential roles in court.
